Timeline of Eradication

Timeline of Eradication

Our position is explicit: we are calling to end the global genocide of transgender, non-binary, two-spirit, and gender-expansive people.

This violence is being fueled by moral panic, political hit jobs, hysteria and ignorance, fear of the unknown, lingering anti-LGBTQIA+ sentiment, and the rise of global fascist movements.

The two most common entry points for transphobia in current policy attacks are: (1) trans people’s participation in sports in alignment with self-identified gender, and (2) disinformation about trans healthcare, especially youth healthcare.

US Map and Source Audit (Wikipedia + Direct Sources)

Last updated: March 2, 2026, 17:28 UTC

We reviewed the Wikipedia page for “Transgender genocide” and prioritized directly sourced map and policy trackers relevant to U.S. organizing and safety planning.

Validated quote checks

  • MAP/NORC: “Nearly one in ten transgender and nonbinary adults has moved states due to anti-LGBTQ+ legislation…” (source)
  • ACLU tracker (2026 session view): “We’ve tracked over 588 anti-LGBTQ bills in the US this year.” (source)
  • Wikipedia map context (June 2025): “27 U.S. states” had youth care bans/restrictions at that time. (source)

Is the “400,000 moved” claim reliable?

Short answer: treat it as an extrapolated estimate, not a direct census count.

  • Primary measured finding: MAP/NORC reports ~9% of trans/nonbinary adults moved states due to anti-LGBTQ laws.
  • Population baseline estimates differ by source/method; resulting national move estimates vary by denominator assumptions.
  • Media headline formulation around “400,000” is plausible as an extrapolation, but should be labeled clearly as an estimate.
